The Living Room

Your living room rug is an important part of the design elements of a room. It can be an expression of your personal style, as it often makes a large statement about the interior design of a room.

The size of the living room rug typically ranges from 8’x10′ to 9’x12′, and larger rugs can be purchased as well.

Ideally, your living room rug should be placed parallel with the length of your sofa, with at least one-third or more of the sofa sitting on top of the rug. Your rug should extend at least 8″ (or more depending on width) beyond each side of your sofa.

Fragrance Pyramid

Top notes (also known as the first impression scents) are short-lived molecules, evaporating quickly. These top notes are often described as cheerful, bright, light, refreshing. Citrus oils fall into the category of top notes.

Middle notes emerge from a blend of essential oils after the top notes have evaporated away, giving the perfume its “heart” or main body. Lavender is an example of a middle note.

Base notes are oils with heavy molecules that take much longer to evaporate. These scents add depth and richness to a blend, acting as an anchor for the entire perfume. Sandalwood and patchouli are two examples of base notes. You smell these scents after the tops and middles have faded away, leaving only the base note scent to linger on your skin. This is why one should always wait thirty minutes or more before they make a final decision about choosing a new perfume. The scent you spray on in the first few minutes will not be the same one you smell several hours later, once all of the top, middle, and bottom notes have had time to settle on your skin.
